Once your child’s appointment begins, we provide step-by-step explanations about everything we are doing. We use a “tell-show-do” method, which allows your child to see what is happening, then we have them try it themselves. This helps your child get used to the unfamiliar dental equipment that will be used during their checkups. We recommend your child visit us twice a year, about every six months, for overall dental check-ups. We believe preventative dentistry is the key to a healthy mouth, as we can monitor your child’s teeth for alignment and find cavities before they become big dental issues.

If your child is nervous and needs help calming down during a dental appointment, we offer behavior guidance, which works well for most children. We also offer light sedation in the form of nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, if your child needs it. General anesthesia is also an option for patients who experience dental anxiety.
