5 Fun Family Activities to Do This Spring Near Vancouver
See what Vancouver has to offer.
As the days start to get a little bit longer and the weather starts to get a little bit warmer, it’s time to break your cabin fever and head outside to see everything that beautiful Vancouver, Washington, and the surrounding area has to offer. At Must Love Kids Pediatric Dentistry, we all love the Vancouver area and enjoy spending time exploring it with our loved ones.
With an abundance of activities available for everyone, check out some of our top Vancouver-area activities you can do with your family this spring.
Stanley Park
Stanley Park is North America’s third-largest park, hosting millions of visitors each year. This urban oasis has 1,000 acres of forests, beaches, and nature trails for everyone to love. For those looking to get moving, check out the seawall, which offers 5.5 miles of pathways for jogging, walking, biking, and skating. The seawall acts as the perimeter of the park, allowing you to take in breathtaking views of the bay. For the hikers in your family, there are hundreds of trails that wind through the park, including through an ancient rainforest.
If you are looking for something for the entire family to enjoy, you can also visit the Vancouver Aquarium, which is located right in the park! The aquarium has over 65,000 animals in its collection, and is known for its excellent marine animal care practices.

Granville Island
Looking for a place where the family can enjoy a robust art and food scene? Take a trip to Granville Island. Located in the Fairview neighborhood of Vancouver on a peninsula, Granville Island is known for its many art galleries and art studios. One of its main attractions, though, is the Granville Island Public Market. This indoor market boasts over 50 eateries, so even the pickiest eater can find something to enjoy, whether it’s a pastry and coffee, a quick meal, or a sit-down dining experience.
Vancouver Farmers Market
If you are looking to stay stateside, visit the Vancouver Farmers Market. This downtown market is open year round, making it a perfect Saturday activity to do with the family. Whether you are looking for fresh produce to use in a new dinner recipe, a delicious baked good, or homemade products like soap and candles, the market provides a little bit of everything for everyone. Take the family out for a nice walk, explore all of the vendors, and pick up a little gift for someone special while you’re there! The market also offers live entertainment on the weekends.
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
Originally made of hemp rope and cedar planks, the Capilano Suspension Bridge has come a long way since 1889. After some upgrades throughout the early 1900s and a rebuild in 1956, the suspension bridge we know today spans 460 feet and sits 230 feet over the Capilano River.
If you are looking for a beautiful view while you hike, visit the Treetops Adventure, which consists of seven suspension bridges that take you through the middle of the tree-lined canopy top. This is an adventure the entire family can do together, and even well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the adventure.
Bowen Island
If you’re looking to get out on the water, take a scenic ferry ride to Bowen Island. Located in the middle of Howe Sound, Bowen Island is a 20-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. Known as a scenic way to rest and relax, Bowen Island offers a number of things to do, from fitness activities, shopping, dining, relaxing spa adventures, and so much more. Whether you are staying the day or over the weekend, an escape to Bowen Island will have you forgetting about the hustle and bustle of city life in Vancouver.
